The Tablemate booklet, "Believe it or not, it works" A guide to the study of the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.
The little booklet, originally titled "Alcoholics Anonymous an interpretation of our Twelve Steps" This booklet was later renamed The Tablemate.
This was one of the earliest attempts at creating a Guide through the Twelve Steps (1940's) and is still used today by many members and often handed down from sponsor to sponsee.

Authentic Booklet
Just received my order for the Table Mate booklets. My first encounter with this booklet was Nov 1974, at the Green River Study Group AA meeting. This was after Lucky Bud had spent the day with me as it was my first day without a drink. Seven men took me upstairs and held a Step One meeting out of the Table Mate. I have kept a Table Mate in my possession since that time. The Table Mate Booklets sent to me today from Pass It On Recovery Shop are identical. I can not speak to any Table Mate prior to 1974. I have introduced many to this booklet. I highly recommend this booklet. My sponsor Dean B., his sponsor Todd T. and his sponsor Bob A. , all from the old Renton Group used this booklet with newcomers. They told me it came from a GI in 1941 passing through Seattle on his way to War.

Edited version to the original.
This table mate has many more discussions than the original from what I remember. I've not been able to find my old copy to compare it to yet but I do not believe the original table mate did the traditions or the third legacy since it was put out around 43.
